This movie is about a small lion called Simba. He is desperate to be king and this film is all about the tragedies and happy moments that will happen to him as he grows up. Can Hakuna Matata help him face some of the saddest things in life? With Pumbaa (a funny warthog), Timon (a meerkat that is there to save Pumbaa’s butt), Nala (Simba’s best friend), Rafiki (the baboon that presents Simba to the circle of life and Mufasa, Simba’s dad, best friend) and Zazu (a bird on his side), can he fend off Scar and his gang of hyenas, Banzai, Ed and Shenzi?
This is a very heartwarming film, made for all ages. There are some very humorous characters like Pumbaa, Timon and Rafiki. There are some really funny moments in this film. For example, the Hakuna Matata song. Some of the not so good areas, however, are in parts like the song "Oh I Just Can't Wait To Be King". In that song, he is pretty much wishing his dad to be dead. In order to be king, the previous king has to be dead. In The Lion King, that king is his father. Another thing is that you don't really see Simba growing up. In about ten seconds, he has gone from a cub to a fully grown lion, ready to be king.
I really enjoyed this heartwarming film with all the hilarious characters like Rafiki, Timon, Pumbaa and Zazu. I especially like Pumbaa and Timon with their misunderstandings and cheerfulness to try and make Simba happy again. It seemed, however, that the song, Hakuna Matata and Nala cheered him up and helped him get over one of life's hardest challenges. One of my favourite scenes was when Simba and Nala were singing "Oh I Just Can't Wait To Be King" and Zazu keeps telling them to stop. I would recommend this film to any age but I would recommend this as a family film.
